Mise-en-scene is played in this film really cleverly throughout the second half. Mise-en-scene means how the scene is set up and a perfect example of this is when Chris gives up his blood just for him and his son to stay a place for the night. This shows a lot of the man himself, he would go to extreme lengths for his son to stay in comfort or whenever something bad happens we always look at the son and we feel bad as we feel sorry for him and his father but the biggest Mise-en-scene is when Chris tries to put light into a bone density scanner. This scanner is what we feel, as the audience that this will be the key if it works we have something to work on if it doesn’t then we are still stuck and the problem would never go away. This is a huge obstacle course that Chris could not overcome or avoid. We could also say this is a sign in his life.
I believe this scene actually fits all the criteria for a film critic. These scenes with this machine are what the whole film hinges on. The Mise-en-scene of that is that they are so close to finding the cure to all their problems but if they can’t find the missing piece to this problem they will forever live in poverty. The music plays a big part in seeing if he is getting closer to his main goal of finding this light bulb, fixing the scanner. The music and the sounds around this are very important as we get a feeling on how close he is from fixing, or how far away he might be. When the music is upbeat we get a good positive feeling in your mind and if we hear a sad, slow and sluggish music we get the thought of he is getting further away from his goal.
The shots we get from that scene are amazing as we get lots of different shots of him trying to sort out the problem to the scanner. We get long shots to see the bigger picture of the bulb and his whole body. When we want to just see the scanner we get some median shots so the scanner is in focus and nothing else. That is important because we get a good visual image of him working and getting a good feel in where he is at. We also get close shots so we can concentrate on the tiny detail on what he is doing. An example of this is when he gets the bulb in and the bulb works we get a close up on this, we also get fast music start to play in the background and the scene is set up very well to end their and have an exciting engaging and enthralling scene to follow. Also that scene shows off great Editing technique as the light bulb means hope and the music backs this up its upbeat music.
We, the audience, feel this is a big sign in the film. At the start we get signs of a working class family who are trying to get along with a limited income and the signs are showing that they can’t survive in this environment and something will have to give. In contrast we get many different sign but, there are two signs which change this film from a doom and gloom to hope and maybe success are firstly, finding a light bulb which makes the scanner work. That is big because he has found a break through in technology and now has enough money to do this for his son to stay in a bit more luxury and he can buy some more light bulbs and sell more of these while doing this course to get into the stock market. So now they are financially stable. Secondly, the $5.00 he gets back from someone who he helped out before. That moment shows a moment of triumph for him and his son who have gone on this rollercoaster ride. He is now in a position where he can concentrate on this course and land this job which will take both him and his son out of poverty and through the clever techniques of the director we also feel like a success as we have gone on this same journey together.
All these techniques put together and this film is really top notch. It has put the effective technique in major parts in the film and as it has a wide variety of effects which make this film so successful. I would give this film a rating of 4 maybe 5 stars.

"South Korean mother Kim Won-sook, left, hugs her North Korean son during a rare reunion of separated families in the Diamond Mountains in North Korea. "
This is a picture of a mother and son who were divided in the war between south and north Korea where they were united and this is a really heartful moment when they meet each other for the first time in many years.

Juxtapositioning

This photo is showing 2 men holding hands which could mean they are twins by the way they are holding their heads or they are in Love. But the real reason was that they clashed heads and they got each other equally. Both pictures are from the same game but they are 2 different photos but they mean the same thing in principles as they are playing football against each other. These are 2 different pictures but they mean the same thing in football terms a game (Man U vs Stoke) where one is a clash or heads and they other is one person celebrating the goal they scored in the same game.

5 Media products
The TV show I have watched last weekend was the X factor. I watched X factor because I enjoy reality TV. I enjoy reality TV because you go on a journey with the contestants. All sorts of Journey with some emotional others being passion and other being determination showing people they can sing. The audience here is active as they also get involved in this journey.
Another aspect of media I listen to is Radio. I listen to 5 Live. I listen to there breakfast show. It is something to get me awake. I use this sort of media as a passive way as I do not want to listen to the news first thing especially bias commentary. For me this was passive media as I was doing everything to not hear this.
The Internet website I use is the BBC. I use this for many different reasons. I use this for in a passive way. I use it in a passive way when I want to look at the sports news or the national news and the BBC is normally the best way in looking for these sorts of news. Sometimes the BBC have indifferent stories which are things that I really don’t want or need to know so I this way is used by me as an passive way in looking at the BBC. This part normally happens when I am looking for a different story but I am going through lots of wrong links to get to the right one.
The paper I read is the Independent. My dad reads the independent. The analyst there are detailed in there responses to the issues and me and my dad have arguments about the bigger stories in the world. This sort of media is passive as sort of active as we can not get involved in what they wrote but we can argue among are selves on what the analysts have written.
The final thing I have watched is the film "The proposal". This is a romantic comedy that I liked. This is an active sort of media as I enjoyed the film and that I did not have to walk out during the film so this film is was active for me.

Media aspects HW
The film I have seen recently went to see was called "The Proposal". As "The Proposal" is a romantic comedy film the trailers before the film were based on theses types of films. They do this because they believe the majority of the people who are there want to see theses types of films so most of the trailers were based on theses types of films. This type of media is Passive and active. Sometimes I will want to listen to some of the films on offer and others I try not to listen. I do not listen intently but I do listen to some of the trailers as I can find this information out on the internet.
Another aspect of Media I have seen recently is news from the bbc website. I am interested in the news and what is happening around the world but on the News they don’t have enough time to get through all the news or they do not spend a huge amount of time on all pieces of news so instead of just watching the news I have a read through the new online. I believe that this type of media is active as I am doing this for my own perpous.
Radio is another part of media life. I like to listen to Fox FM. There are a few reasons why I listen to them because they are locally based, they play music, there is local, national and international new on Fox FM. It is also a relaxing way to getting up in the morning. I use this part of the media in an active way.
I also watch TV. I really don’t like most of the adverts on commercial TV. It drives me around the bend. I watch things like the football or an interesting drama but the adverts I do not like so try to stay as passive as I can. I sometimes do something else while the breaks are on or try to flick channels to see anything is on but I really try hard in not to listen to the adverts. There are some adverts I am active like some food is out or a good deal is out but mainly I try to stay passive. I like my TV drama so I watch ITV a lot with "A Touch of Frost" or "Taggert" ect...

Eastenders HW
There are lots of values in Eastenders. Eastenders is a soap which takes really issues in everyday life and puts it into a place called Walford. We can see this is a small community as the central point of it is the pub called the queen vic. There are some values in Eastenders. They are very family based, they have very close friends and there are lots of sercets in Eastenders being kept.
Also in Eastenders there is lots of greed and secrets affairs. This is the darker side to life but it is a side that is also true in life so it is a good soap to watch as has both sides of life.

the Proposal
I watched a film called "The Proposal" and I thought it was a entertaining film. I thought the story line was unconventional but fun at the same time. The story follows a woman who is trying to stay in the country as she is an illegal immigrant but the only way to stay in the country is to marry her office assistant. They both run into lots of difficulty along the way but they reach their eventual goal which is to stay in the country. As the film is a romantic comedy, I believe that there is more of the romantic and less of the comedy side to this film. This is the only criticism of this film I would have of this film.

I think it had a good start to the with the story being easy to follow it got straight into the main body of the film which is the way this women is trying to stay in the country. The middle in the film was the most effective part of the film as it has a good story line it was easy to follow and it had humorous points in different parts which made the film so effective. The ending part had really good effect in being so emotive. I just think a little bit more humour at the end just to remind us this is a comedy film as well as a romantic film. Overall I would give this a 3 stars for this film.
